From lavender to lemon and spearmint to soft pink, pastels dominated the Spring 2012 runways. This muted tangerine dress from Chanel’s RTW collection and delicate look from Preen embody the trend, also seen throughout the luscious spring fashion issues of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
These pale hues translate beautifully to interiors. Below I’ve included some beautiful spaces that incorporate pastels in a sophisticated, “grown-up” way.
This room by Suzanne Kasler has a gorgeous muted palette.
I love the geometric look Jeffrey Bilhuber created here.
Gwyneth Paltrow has a stunning light-toned dining room.
I’m also drawn to the faded hues in this space by Steven Gambrel.
David Kleinberg Interior Design made this bedroom soft , yet sophisticated.
Here, light pink accents offer visual interest.
Baby blue doesn’t look childish at all in this space by Suzanne Kasler.
A recent S. B. Long Interiors project - here, I used stripes and crisp white contrast to anchor the buoyant pastel hues.
Light mauve provides a nice backdrop for traditional furnishings.
Another Steven Gambrel-designed space with subtle hints of color:
What a lovely palette for spring!
