I tend to travel regularly throughout the year sourcing for different projects at design shows, such as NY NOW and High Point (see recent posts about these here and here). It’s fun when I can find great pieces right in my backyard, so to speak. Last week I spent one exhausting day at the Dallas Market, held at the Dallas Market Center. There were some interesting vendors that I haven’t seen at other shows, which made it worth the trip.
I’ve had lighting on my mind lately, and I found some wonderful fixtures at the market. I also spotted some vibrant textiles. Here are a few things that caught my eye:
Fun, modular lights with custom colored interiors
Whimsical animal pillows
Metal petals – love how the light emanates through these pendants
Bright modern chairs
Industrial chic wall sconce
Nice variation of the traditional starburst mirror
Quilted Indian print fabric – an unexpected twist to the classic Swan chair
I could see a bunch of these accordion lights over a long dining table
Textured metal – love the play of burnished metal with the delicate textural design
Colorful grosgrain ribbons
Unusual woven chair
Although this looks like oversized stone jewelry, it’s actually soap — too nice to use!
